Nature and Art, and the Evolution of Selfhood

Saturday, October 8, 2022

10:00 a.m. - noon

Presented by Wende Essrow

Art can help us become more conscious of our true relationship with nature. It is undoubtedly important to feel a connection to the natural world... in fact, it is vital to our survival! During our 4th quarter, we will be guided to this connection by exploring several different themes – our first being “The Butterfly” theme.  Wende will share some butterfly folklore and legends from around the world.  We will discuss our personal connection with butterflies.  Watercolor paint and paper will be provided for participants to paint their own butterfly art.  In addition, photos will be provided for reference, and you may use your phones for photo references as well.  We will wrap with writing a bit about your painting and how butterflies are symbolic of transformation and the experience of evolving towards our ever-changing best selves. Time permitting, we can read our butterfly writings.  Please join us for this artistic exploration of nature!

EFT Tapping, Self-Healing for Food Cravings, and 3rd Chakra Imbalances

Symptoms as metaphors can be transformed by experiencing mind-body-spirit self-healing techniques including meditation, expressive writing, EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques), hypnosis, and dreamwork in this workshop. Addressing shame in the third solar plexus chakra/energy center allows for healing to occur for food cravings, weight loss, eating disorders, and Type 2 diabetes. The most important metaphor for transformation focuses on how to make your life sweeter by addressing the core belief of not being enough. This process is based on prior workshops by Dr. Larry at the Duke Diet and Fitness Center and the Rice Diet Program.

Forgiveness 2.0

Saturday, October 29, 2022

10:00 a.m. - noon

Presented by Rev. Annie Nelson

Which has the stronger pull on our emotions: the need to forgive or the need to be forgiven? Is forgiveness a conscious choice, or an emotional state?  How do we know when the process of forgiveness is complete?  We invite you to join in our Forgiveness 2.0 workshop, where we will do a deep dive into these questions, and the attributes of forgiveness, and discuss in detail the final phase(s) of the forgiveness process; taking us to the 2.0 level of understanding and release.

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a constant attitude.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
